Burgers have long dominated event menus, but while they remain popular, evolving fan tastes and the growth of womenâs sports have reshaped what spectators are enjoying, according to new insights from Gloucester-based Freemans Event Partners.
Trusted by some of the UKâs most iconic venuesâincluding Silverstone Circuit, Allianz Stadium, Lordâs Cricket Ground, the London Stadium, and WembleyâFreemans Event Partners analyzed sales trends from 2025 to reveal what fans are eating and drinking at major events, and what to expect in 2026.
The findings show a clear winner: Greek food. Gyros, in particular, have overtaken burgers as a fan favorite. At the Womenâs Rugby World Cup Final at Allianz Stadium in September 2025, gyros outsold the highest-selling burger by an impressive 150%, marking the first time burgers failed to feature in the top 20 products sold at a major event.
Greek cuisineâs appeal extends beyond womenâs rugby. At the 2025 F1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, approximately 10% of food and drink outlets offered Greek options, spread across 10 locations, making it one of the most widely available non-British cuisines at the event.
